The Ambassador met with the Minister of Environment & Tourism of Mongolia

Ambassador Thorir Ibsen met with the Minister of Environment & Tourism of Mongolia, H.E. Bat-Erdene, during his visit to Mongola where he earlier this week presented his credentials to H.E. Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh, President of Mongolia.

Both noted a strong interest in continued Icelandic-Mongolian cooperation on land restoration & geothermal capacity building, as well as in sharing experience of tourism & to cooperate on developing geothermal energy use for district heating in Mongolia.
