Embassy InformationThe Permanent Mission of Iceland in Geneva opened on 1 March 1970 on the occasion of Iceland’s accession to the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). In February 2018 the Mission also became the Embassy of Iceland in Switzerland and Liechtenstein with the Holy See being added in 2022. The Permanent Mission represents Iceland at EFTA, the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the United Nations Office and agencies, as well as other international organisations located in Geneva.
