Iceland stands in full solidarity with its allies and close partners in supporting Ukraine and aligns itself completely with EU sanctions imposed on Russia in response to the invasion. Iceland supports United Nations agencies and other international organisations providing humanitarian assistance on the ground with financial contributions. Unprecedented steps have been taken in Iceland to welcome refugees from Ukraine and provide security and defence related support.
