Foreign Minister meets with Chair of NATO Military Committee

Foreign Minister Thorgerdur Katrin Gunnarsdottir met with the Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Guiseppe Cavo Dragone of Italy, when he visited Iceland on 17 October. Among the topics discussed at the meeting were security and defence in the North Atlantic and Arctic, Iceland´s contribution to NATO's deterrence and defence posture and allied support for Ukraine´s defense capabilities against the illegal invasion of Russia.

This is the first time that Admiral Dragone visits Iceland in his capacity as Chair of the Military Committee. During his visit to Iceland he also spoke at the Arctic Circle Assembly.
