Minister of Infrastructure

Eyjólfur assumed the office of Minister of Transport and Local Government on 21 December 2024, and became Minister of Infrastructure on 15 March 2025 when the title of the office was changed by presidential decree.

He has been a Member of Parliament for the Northwest Constituency since 2021 (People’s Party).

Eyjólfur was born in Vestmannaeyjar on 23 July 1969.

He graduated from East Aurora High School in New York State in 1988.
