UPR 51 - Saint Kitts and Nevis

Mr. President,

Iceland welcomes the delegation of Saint Kitts and Nevis and its national report.

In the spirit of constructive engagement, Iceland recommends the following:

1. Abolish the death penalty.
2. Ratify the ICCPR and the Second Optional Protocol to the ICCPR.
3. Criminalize all forms of gender based violence (GBV), including marital rape.
4. Legalize abortion in all circumstances.
5. Ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health services and information.
6. Legalize same sex marriage of consenting adults.
7. Adopt comprehensive anti-discrimination legislation that criminalizes all forms of discrimination against persons of diverse SOGIESC.
